Prospective Students

Prospective Students

Explore programs, costs, admissions steps, campus visits, and student support before deciding whether QHCC is the right next step.

Plan your path before you apply.

These pages answer the questions prospective students usually ask first: what can I study, how do I apply, what will it cost, and who can help me plan?

Is QHCC a Good Fit?

QHCC is designed for students who want a smaller community college environment with personal advising, practical program choices, and support close to home. Students may be preparing to transfer, building job-ready skills, improving academic English, returning to school, or exploring a new direction.

Prospective students do not need every answer before contacting the college. Admissions and advising can help narrow choices, explain program language, and identify the most realistic first step.

Questions to Ask Before Applying

A strong first conversation usually covers academic goals, prior coursework, time available for study, transportation, work or family responsibilities, cost planning, and whether the student needs English-language or placement support.

  • What program or career direction interests me most?
  • Do I want transfer preparation, a certificate, ESL, or exploration?
  • How many classes can I realistically take in my first term?
  • Do I have transcripts or records that advisors should review?
  • Would a campus visit or advising appointment help before applying?

Ways to Learn More

Prospective students can request information, visit campus, review program pages, read the course catalog, compare tuition pages, or attend admissions events. Families and school counselors may join general planning conversations when helpful.

When to Apply

Students should apply early enough to complete records review, placement guidance, orientation, advising, and tuition planning before popular course sections fill. Applying early is especially helpful for students who have international records, prior college transcripts, or questions about English and math placement.

After You Decide

Once a prospective student is ready, the next step is the admissions application. Submitting the application begins the official admissions conversation but does not register the student for classes. Registration happens after the required advising and readiness steps are complete.
